Subject Pathway Posters

Show your students where their subjects could take them with this set of 26 Subject Pathway Posters.

Why every Careers Advisor needs these on the wall

If you’ve ever watched a student shrug when asked what they want to do after school, you know how hard it can be to get them thinking about the future. These posters do the heavy lifting for you, especially for Subject Selection this year.

Each of the 26 Subject Pathway Posters takes a familiar school subject and fans it out into three career pathways, showing students the kinds of jobs that subject could lead to.

When a Year 10 student walks past a poster and discovers that studying Physics could lead to a career in medical imaging, or that Drama can open doors in tourism and event management, something clicks. Suddenly, subject selection isn’t just about picking what’s easy, it’s about choosing what could be great for their future.

We’ve designed these specifically to spark the kind of casual, ongoing career conversations that make a real difference. Not every student will sit down for a one-on-one career chat, but every student walks past a wall.

Here is Lucy (our Career Practitioner & CEO) putting them up to show you:

Updated for 2026 with state and territory-specific subjects (make Subject Selection awesome at your school)

Our Subject Pathway Posters are our most successful curriculum posters ever, but we’ve listened to feedback from careers advisers across Australia and rebuilt the set for 2026 with subject names and groupings that match your local state or territory curriculum. When you purchase, simply choose your state or territory from the dropdown. You’ll get a version that reflects the subjects your students are more likely to see on their timetable. (NT and SA share the same set.)

This means no more explaining away subject names that don’t quite match, and no confusion for students. Just recognisable subjects on your school walls.

How to get the most out of your Subject Pathway Posters in Subject Selection

These posters work best when they’re everywhere — not tucked away in the careers office. Here are three tried-and-tested approaches that schools are using right now:

  • Time them around Subject Selection
A few weeks before Year 10 students need to lock in their senior subjects, start placing these posters where they naturally gather… near lockers, outside the canteen, in common areas. Focus on the unexpected career connections. When students see that Languages could take them into international relations, or that Food Technology leads to careers in food science and public health, it broadens their thinking right when it matters most.
  • Hand them to your subject teachers
Share the relevant posters with each faculty and encourage teachers to display them in and around their classrooms. When a Biology teacher has the Biology, Chemistry, and Physics posters on the wall, students start connecting their learning to real futures without even realising it. If you’ve got multiple teachers per subject, just print extra copies.
  • Build a career exploration zone in the library
Group the posters by theme: STEM pathways together, creative subjects clustered, vocational pathways in their own section. Add books about careers in those fields underneath, or create QR codes linking to deeper resources. The library is where students go to discover things, and these posters give them something genuinely useful to discover.

The goal is visibility. The more students see these, the more career conversations happen and the more successful your careers program will become by default. Get your poster set today and start printing in just minutes from now.
