Time:

to 5:00pm

Register to secure your place in one of our three biomedical engineering workshops! These are in-person workshops being held at the UNSW Kensington campus.

In each free workshop, you will learn about the field of biomedical engineering with the challenge of switch-adapting a toy bear to be activated through a larger push button, so that it is more accessible to children with disabilities or restricted finger or arm mobility.

Under the guidance of current engineering students, you’ll be using basic engineering tools to complete this challenge whilst getting an insight into what it’s like to study biomedical engineering at UNSW. By the end of the workshop you’ll have made a switched-adapted toy that will be donated to families who have children with disabilities. Now that is engineering with IMPACT!

Choose one of the three workshops being run on Wednesday 17 April:

  • Year 7-9 morning workshop: 10am – 11:30am
  • Year 10-12 midday workshop: 12:30pm – 2:30pm
  • Year 10-12 afternoon workshop: 3pm – 5pm
